Parquet Staircase Polishing in Singapore
Many Singapore homes, especially maisonettes, terraces and older condos, have concrete stairs clad in parquet or timber strips that match the floors. These steps need more care than a solid tread: the small pieces work loose, the edges chip, and the nosing strip takes the most wear. We re-glue loose strips, replace broken ones and polish the whole flight and landing so it matches your parquet floors. From $350 per flight.

What's included
- Tap test for hollow and loose strips on every step
- Loose strips re-glued, broken ones replaced
- Nosing strips re-fixed and shaped
- Buffing and a fresh coat of varnish on treads, risers and landings
- Colour matched to the parquet floors upstairs and downstairs
- Option to polish the floors at the same visit
Signs you need this
- Strips that click, rock or have popped out
- Chipped strips along the nosing
- Landing parquet looking worn next to polished rooms
- Gaps opening between strips
- Dull, scratched finish on the steps
Why parquet stairs need special care
Parquet on stairs is cut into short lengths and glued onto concrete, with a separate strip or moulding at the nosing. Every step concentrates foot traffic onto a small area, and the nosing strip is hit with every footstep. In Singapore's humidity the glue under these small pieces gives way sooner than on a floor. That's why we tap-test every step and fix loose pieces before polishing, rather than varnishing over them.

How a job works
- WhatsApp us 3 or 4 photos of your stairs: the whole flight, a close-up of the damage and the most-used step.
- Get a price. We reply with an estimate the same day, or visit within 1 to 3 days to check for loose treads.
- Book a date. Jobs usually start 3 to 7 days after you confirm.
- We repair first, then polish or sand and varnish, in stages so you can still use the stairs.
- Inspect together and pay by PayNow or bank transfer once you're happy.
Before we arrive
- Clear anything stored on the steps and the landing.
- Remove stair runners, mats and baby gates.
- Tell us about loose, clicking or damaged steps you've noticed.
- Plan where pets and young children will be during the work.
- If this is your only staircase, tell us so we can plan the stages.

Frequently asked questions
Can you polish parquet stairs to match my parquet floor?
Yes. We polish the stairs and landing with the same varnish and sheen as your floors, and can do the floors in the same visit so everything matches.
How much does parquet staircase polishing cost?
From $350 per flight. Loose or broken strip repairs start from $350.
Why do parquet strips on stairs come loose?
The adhesive ages, and humidity makes the timber swell and shrink. Stairs take concentrated impact at the nosing, so strips there loosen first.
Do you replace missing parquet strips on stairs?
Yes. We fit matching strips from our stock of common species, or salvage pieces from a hidden area if your timber is unusual.
